About Us

Welcome to District Dance Company, where our mission is to pass knowledge and expertise onto the new generation of creative artists.

We have created a modern, technique specific regime that will benefit your child in helping them thrive into young performers in today’s society. We encourage and support good etiquette, commitment and healthy mindsets among our dancers, to create the next generation of evolved artists. In return we hope the dancers are enthusiastic and committed to coming to our classes and passionate about improving their dancing.

Artistic Director – Jennifer Psaroulis

Jennifer has recently established District Dance Company with the ambition of passing on her knowledge and expertise to the next generation of performers. She believes that children should be exposed to dance as a medium of expression, helping them to build the courage to express themselves in all facets of life. She wants her students to immerse themselves in dance with the same enthusiasm she had for dance throughout her life, to help grow as both dancers and young adults.

Jennifer has been dancing since the age of 3 and competed in eisteddfods nationally in Classical Ballet, Demi-Character, Jazz, Contemporary, Lyrical, and Hip-Hop since the age of 6. Throughout her training she has completed all of her RAD Ballet Examinations with High Distinctions, including a 99 in her Intermediate Foundation exam, and competed in the Isobel Anderson Awards, reaching the semi-finals for 5 years in a row.

Jennifer trained at SCEGGS Redlands, where she was a major lead role in their productions of Sleeping Beauty, Don Quixote and The Nutcracker. She has immersed herself in dance, taking classes and workshops with some of Australia’s leading choreographers including Stephen Tannos, Sophie Holloway, Robbie Kmetoni, Chaz Cummings, Jess Smithson, and Andrew Huynh to name a few. Jennifer has also taken part in Ballet workshops with well renowned Australian instructors at McDonald College and Sydney Dance Company.

Jennifer completed her Certificate II in Dance with Dance Editorial at the age of 16, where she began her teaching career. After graduating from the International Baccalaureate she completed a year of full-time attaining her Certificate IV in Dance with Ettingshausens. She is scheduled to graduate from Sydney University this year with a major in Performance Studies.
